Reflection #2
Okay, so I see that I got carried away on my last blog, and it is no small wonder that no one responded. I found the Short Essay #1 challenging and I really liked the idea about picking a 'small' idea from the readings and "exploding" it outward in a kind of condensed way - I am not too good at roping myself in and so this will be a continued exercise in discipline and in narrowing down the field. I am pretty much happily availing myself to this experience because I think it is great practice, interesting subject matter, and very adept instruction - And, the class is prodding me to step up to some things that I resist or avoid if I have a choice. I feel more relaxed now and I am excited rather than frightened. I think I will continue to be pleasantly surprised and very much stimulated by this class...

I think it's great that you had that much to say about the first two weeks of class. I can understand though I can get carried away when I find something interesting to talk about. What I find that I do is that I start going off on all these different tangents and never really explain what I was talking about in the first place. Wow now that I think about it, I think that's how I talk in person too. Hmmm, that's really funny.
ReplyDeleteI really like Lauren as a professor. I think she adds a really great element to the class with these blogs. Personally it's really nice to be able to come on here and just spout about what ever.
I had a Professor for Eng 1a who set up her class similar to this, her name was Barbra Mclure I believe, and I really enjoyed that class too. I think for a Critical Thinking class this is going to be really entertaining.
